WHAT DOES IT MEAN
What does it mean to be a Christian?
What are your expectations?
A better question is what does God expect form His children?
First lets talk about what it means to be a Christian.
You have to believe that Jesus Christ is Gods only begotten Son.
That Jesus died for the sins of the world even though He had no sins of His own.
When you ask Jesus into you heart, and to be the Lord of you life, you repent
from your sins and become a new person.
You want to live for the Lord.
That is why they call it being born again.
The Holy Spirit enters your soul and will lead you on the path that leads to the
Lord.
God has a plan for your life.
The Lord will give you life lessons to help you understand and learn just what life
is all about.
As a Christian your job will be to lead the lost souls to the Lord.
The Lord will give you spiritual gifts that will help you do he Lords work.
The Lord will never put you in a situation you can't handle.
Bible studies are a good idea.
It will help you to get to know the Lord.
Find a sister or brother that you can talk to when you get discouraged.
Even those who have been serving the Lord for years get discouraged.
The more you grow in the Lord you will come to recognize the Lords voice when
He speaks to you.
The enemy came to me and whispered that I was as Judas and the Lord didn't
want or love me.
I didn't have anyone to talk to at the time.
I walked away from the Lord.
What I should have done was to go to a sister in the Lord to help me through it.
The main thing is to seek the Lords will.
If you feel at peace then you are probably in the Lords will.
When you asked Jesus into your heart what did you expect?
When I first asked Jesus into my heart it depended what denomination I went to
as to what I should expect.
I was confused for years until about 3 years ago.
Religion is not what the Lord has for Christians we belong to the body of Christ.
Religion is mans way of doing things.
God doesn't promise that we will all be millionairs.
God doesn't promise that we will never have any trials or tribulations.
God doesn't promise that we will never be sick or get hurt again.
God does promise He will never leave or sorsake His children.
God promised He will provide all of our needs.
God said He loves us just as we are.
God said He would calm the storms in our lives or calm the storm in us.
God said He would protect us from the enemy.
God sends angels to watch over us.
God fills us with His perfect love.
God fills us with love, joy, peace, faith, and hope for a better day.
He comforts you when your heart is broken.
He carries you when you just can't go on anymore.
God is our redeamer, strength and our refuge.
Now for the last part, what does God expect from us, His children.
We are to put God first in our lives and all will follow, love, family, home, and jobs.
We are expected to give all of our burdens to the Lord.
We are to be about the Lords work seeking the lost souls and leading them into
the light.
We are expected to praise and worship our God.
The Lord will give us spiritual gifts we are expected to use them or we will loose
them.
They are tools that will help us to lead the lost into th light.
God also expects us to walk in the way of the Lord.
We are to obey the 10 commandments.
We are to love our brothers and sisters in the Lord.
We are to love all of mankind.
Love the sinner but hate the sin.
Love your enemies that have done you wrong.
Forgive those who have hurt you or your family for if you can't forgive God will not
forgive you.
We can't go out and chase the things of the world.
For is you love the things of the world you don't love God.
The darkness can't live in the light and light can't live in the darkness.
So when you truly gove your heart to the Lord you are living in the light.
Walk in Jesus for if you do you are walking in His ways.
That is what we as Christians are striving for.
Rest in Jesus for that is what the Lord wants us to do.
Seek His councel for you are seeking the truth in all that you do.
Give the Lord the glory for all that He does through you.
The closer walk in the Lord you have your carnal man will fall away and the lost
souls will see Jesus in you.
My prayer is that who ever reads these words, the Lord gave me, will see the
wisdom in the words. What we as man expect is not what God expects from
us. We must be prepared for the trials and tribulations and know that the
Lord is with you. Being a Christian isn't living on easy street. It
is knowing
that the Lord is always with you and that He loves you just as you are.
