PATIENTS & PERSEVERING
This word is something all Christians could use more of.
Patients means: Bearing pains or trials calmly or without complaint.
Persevere means: To persist in a state, interprise, or undertaking in
spite of counter influences, opposition, or discouragement.
Many times in my life I wanted to give up.
When my son was small I had to keep up the appearance of being in
control but on the inside I was I so much turmoil I could hardly
stand it.
There were times I just broke down sobbing.
I wasn't walking in the ways of the Lord then.
James 5: 7-8 says; "Therefore be patient, brethern, until the coming
of the Lord. See how the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the
earth, waiting patiently for it until it receives the latter rain. You
also be patient. Establish your hearts, for the coming of the Lord
is at hand.
We, as Christians, must act differently while the storms rage around
us.
Whether we are suiffering injustice, financially or illness, etc we must
be patient and wait on the Lord.
No matter what the enemy may throw at us our faith, knowing the
Lord is with us should carry us through all situations.
The early church waited patiently fo the Lord Jesus Christ to come
back.
Proverbbs 14: 14 says; "The backslider in heart will be filled with his
own way; But a good man will be satisfied from above."
As you can see in this scripture we must learn to be patient and wait
on the Lord.
If we don't we will surely end up in hell.
We must walk in the ways of the Lord and reframe from backsliding for
that is something God will not tolerate.
Matthew 5:12 says; "Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is
your reward in heaven for so they persecuted the prophets who
were before you."
This scripture tells us we will be rewarded for our patients and
perseverance in all that we go through.
Many times our insides and our minds are in so much turmoil by the
things that are going on around us but we must not focus on
them.
If a lost soul sees you acting the same way they do, why would they
want the Lord?
By our actions we can make God look weak and unable to take care of
us.
It's our faith that is weak but God will be the one they will look at as
weak.
I don't know about you, brothers and sisters in the Lord, but I don't
want my actions to make God look weak.
James 5: 8-9 says, "Establish your hearts, for the coming of the Lord
is at hand. Do not grumble against one another, brethren, lest
you be condemned. Behold, the judge is standing at the door!"
This scripture is saying that if we grumble at each other it shows little
faith and that we are failing at being patient and persevering the
trials that we face in our life.
Then it says the judge, (Jesus), is coming soon.
Also when we are grumbling at each other the body of Christ is not
flowing and this does not please the Lord.
When James said establish your hearts he is saying the the love of the
Jesus fills our hearts and are not tempted by any others.
With all that we do it must glorify the Lord and that comes from our
hearts to always be in the Lords will.
Job went through so much but he persevered all that came against
him.
No matter what others said Job never turned away from God.
In fact he continued to praise God even through the pain he suffered.
Job made it through and was blessed with more than he lost.
I have been through a lot in my life time but nothing like Job.
So if you are going through a trial try to look at all the good things in
your life and praise the Lord through it all.
When you feel like you can't go on and you just want to scream, go to
your prayer closet and cry out to God.
There have been times I was in such a mess I didn't even know what
to pray for.
So all I did was go to my prayer closet and cried, sobbed actually,
calling Jesus over and over until I felt at peace.
The Lord was compassionate with me just like He had been with Job.
James 5: 12 says; "But above all, my brethren, do not swear, either
by heaven or by earth or with any other oath. But let your "yes"
be "yes" and your "no" be "no" lest you fall into judgement."
James didn't mean the oath in a court room but he was talking about
other idols.
When you swear in the Lords name you better make sure only the
truth is spoken out of your mouth.
The scriptures used in this word were; James 5: 7-12,
Proverbs
14: 14
Matthew 5: 12
My prayer is that who ever reads these words, the Lord gave me, will
study the scripturs that were used. Also that all are preparing
their hearts for the time is near for the Lord to return. That your
behavior will glorify the Lord even when the storm is raging around
you. I pray these words will encourage you to seek the Lord when
everything comes crashing down on you.
God bless you and your family, may the Lord keep you close to Him.
PRISE GOD THE FATHER, JESUS OUR SAVIOR, AND THE HOLY SPIRIT
THAT LIVES WITHIN ALL CHRISTIANS.
