WHAT IS SIN
This is a subject that has to be addressed because everyones definition seems to
be different.
I found one definition that sin means to miss the mark.
Then the question is what is the mark?
I found another definition that said, a violation of any of Gods laws including the 10
commandments.
That makes it clearer.
Through the law we become concious of our sins.
God wants us to recognize our sins.
God wants to recognize our own sins not to point out someone elses sins.
Jesus said, why are you trying to remove a splinter out of your brothers eye when
you have a plank in your own eye.
Gods laws are to show us the standard of moral purity.
Sins are also called transgressions of the law but not just the 10 commandments.
Simply put sin is disobeying Gods Word.
There are 6 different catagories of sin.
First one is unrightiousness.
Second one is to be unjust.
Third one is immoral acts.
Fourth one is when God gives us something to do and we don't do it, Omission of
duty.
Fifth is we are guilty of faithlessness.
Sixth is when we do foolish acts that could kill or injure yourself or someone else.
The ten commandments are:
1. You shall have no other gods before me.
2. You shall not make yourself a carved image any likeness of anything that is
in heaven above, or that is in the earth, or that is beneath, or that is in the
water under the earth, you shall not bow down to them or serve them.
3. You shall not take the name of the Lord God in vain.
4. Remember the sabboth day, to keep it Holy.
5. Honor your father and mother.
6. Thou shall not murder.
7. You shall not commit adultry.
8. You shall not steal.
9. You shall not bear false witness against your neirgbor.
10. You shall not covet your neighbors house; you shall not covet your
neighbors wife, nor his man servant, nor his female servant, nor his ox, nor his
donkey, nor anything that is your neighbors.
All the things God warns us not to do in the Bible are sins too.
There are many warnings in the Books of Psalms and Proverbs.
Those 2 books in the Bible are a definately on the list to read.
Although there are many warnings in the New Testiment that you need to know
also.
Some sins that most all of us are guilty of is gossiping.
Since gossip is usually either lies or exagerated this is something that this is
that falls under the commanment thou shall not bear false witness against
your neighbor.
Other things are sins that people don't think about being a sin such as food,
pride, being vain, and anything that you use excessively or put before God
also unforgiveness.
With food the sin is called glunteness.
The people that live to eat are in sin.
Those who eat to live are not.
Pride will cause you to sin in many ways.
Pride will keep you from apologising when you have been wrong.
Pride will keep you from humbling yourself before the Lord.
If you are vain you tend to think you are better because of the worlds standards
you are part of the beautiful people.
What is inside is what really counts your heart that belongs to God.
Remember that anything you put before God is a sin.
That includes people like parents, husbans, wives, and children.
When you put them before God you are making them your god.
Pastors have to be very careful about this.
They need to remind their flock that we are to look to God and not them.
Yes we are to respect Gods anointed ones.
But we are never suppose to put them before God.
We worship God not the pastor.
Basically sin is everything against Gods laws which are all written in the Bible.
This is why it is so important to read the Bible.
We all have to check ourself daily for sins we may have commited.
Then take them to the Lord and ask for forgiveness.
Then we must repent daily.
We have all fallen short of the kingdom of God.
If you meet a Christian that puts themself above everyone then they don't have
God in them.
God considers us all equal and loves all His children the same.
With sin any sin not matter how small you think it is brings death.
Unforgiveness is one that if you don't forgive someoe who has done you wrong
God will not forgive your sins.
Jesus died for our sins so He can forgive them if you ask.
Then you must repent from that sin.
My prayer is that who ever reads these words, that the Lord gave me, will under-
stand what sin is and that Jesus is the only one that can take our sins away
with one drop of His Blood. I pray yuou will read the Bible and and see Gods
laws so you won't be deceived by the enemy.
