BOASTING
This lesson will be on boasting.
Boasting is a form of pride.
Your pride will keep you from God.
So lets see what the Word has to say about boasting.
Romans 3:27 says; Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? Of
works? No, but by the law of faith.
Boasting is a sin make no mistake in that, for it is a form of pride.
Those who think they are the most interesting person in the world and all they
do is brag about themself.
When you takle credit for something God has done that is wrong.
If Gods working through you , you need to give God the credit, glory, and praise
for it.
These lessons I write are not coming from me, but Jesus is working through me.
I am learning along with all who read these lessons.
I haven't had a lot of schooling to be able to go through each verse and explain
what they mean..
I have to depend on God for the revolaton to understand.
1 Corinthians 1:29 says; that no flesh should glory in His presence.
Have you ever known someone who talks so highly of themself that you begin to
wonder how they got into your house their heads are so big, surely they
wouldn't fit through the doors?
They seem to go on and on.
No matter what you talk about they have done that and been there.
These kind of people are generally of the world.
They don't know there is a God in control of all things.
Either that or they don't believe in God.
They rarely will let anyone speak unless you want to add to something they said
about themself.
God is in control of all of our lives.
In all good things in our lives God gets the glory.
In all that we do we should give God the glory and honor.
God will not allow us to glorify ourself for something He has done through us.
Romans 3:28 says; Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith apart
from the deeds of the law.
Paul was speaking to those who knew the law.
They were boasting about what they knew.
But Pauls words pretty much shut their mouths.
The laws they were speaking about were condemning them.
You can know the laws but of what use if you don't live by them.
God was the One who saved them through His plan of salvation.
So if they boasted it should have been God they were boasting about.
Giving God all of the glory and honor.
Galatians 2:16 says; knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law
but by faith in Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Christ Jesus, that we
might be justified by faith in Christ and not by the works of the law; for by the
works of the law no flesh shall be justified.
To be justified is to be forgiven of our sins like we had never sinned in our lives.
You cannot be justified by the law or works.
You can only be justified by faith in Jesus Christ.
Knowing that Christ is Gods only begotten Son is there salvation.
Live in the ways Jesus lived on earth.
To serve God by telling the good news that Jesus saves.
Romans 3:29 says; Or is He the God of the Jews only? Is He not also the God
of the Gentiles? Yes of the Gentiles also,
The Jewish people, because they were Gods chosen people, thought that they
were privledged over all the other people.
It is true that the Jewish people are the apple of Gods eye.
But that does not mean that God will not judge them the same as all of the
people of the world.
God is the God of all the people from all of the nations.
God is a just God, and sin is sin, If you are living in sin you will be judged for that
sin.
If you are serving God, God will reward you, no matter what nation you are from.
God loves all of us the same.
Romans 3:30 says; since there is one God who will justify the circumcised by
faith and the uncircumcised through faith.
This verse is showing that being circumcised makes no difference when we
speak of salvation.
It is faith in Jesus Christ that makes all the difference.
If you are circumcised but have no faith in Jesus Christ, you will not be saved.
If you are uncircumcised but have faith in Jesus Christ you are saved.
Without the faith in Christ there is no way to go to heaven.
Being circumcised is a religious ritual, and will not have anything to do with going
to heaven.
Galstians 3:8 says; And the Scripture, forseeing that God would justify the Gen-
tiles by faith, preached the gospel of Abraham before hand, saying, "In you
all nations shall be blessed."
Christ coming was no secret.
Many prophecied the coming of Christ.
But even then it was up to individuals to believe.
Many times it is hard to believe unless you see with your own eyes.
But when it comes to God if we believe without seeing we are indeed blessed.
God is not a liar, so if God makes a promise you know it to be the truth.
Galatians 3:20 says; Now a metiator does not mediate for one only, but God is
one.
Jesus is the mediate for all of the people of the world.
Moses was a medator over the Israelites while in the desert.
Paul was a mediator over the Gentiles.
But God is only one.
He speaks to one and they listen and will spread the word from there.
A child of God will recognize their Masters voice and act on His word.
But they speak to many not just one as God does.
Romans 3:31 says; Do you then make void the law through faith? Certainly not !
On the contrary, we establish the law.
There can be three meanings to the law in this scripture.
1. This passage could be referring to the way Jesus completely fulfilled the re-
quirements of the law.
2. If the law the entire Old Testament, then the gospel fulfills the promise of the
coming of Christ and of the forgiveness of sin.
3. If law is the moral law, then the gospel fulfills it because it is through Christ
that people are empowered by the Holy Spirit to live in a way that pleases
God.
As you can see any one of these could fit this verse.
Any way you look at it the plan God had works to bring the people of the world
into His family.
We have such an awesome God, when He makes a plan all the bases are cov-
ered.
The scriptures I used in this lesson are: Romans 3:27-31, 1 Corinthians 1:29,
Galatians 2:16, 3:8, 3:20.
My prayer is that who ever reads this lesson, the Lord gave me, will read all of the
scriptures and continue to read more. That you will seek Gods laws in the
scriptures. I pray that your desire to know the Lord more will grow with each
lesson.
God bless you and your family, may the Lord keep you close to Him.
PRAISE GOD OUR FATHER, JESUS OUR SAVIOR, AND THE HOLY SPIRIT
THAT LIVES WITHIN ALL CHRISTIANS.
