GODS RIGHTEOUSNESS
This lesson we will be talking about Gods righteousness, in His children.
Our God is Holy, righteous, powerful, and all knowing.
There is no man or beast who can over power or out smart God.
God know what is going to happen before it happens.
God is in control !!!
Romans 3:21 says; But now the righteousness of God apart from law is revealed
being witnessed by the law and the prophets,
When they are talking about Gods righteousness it is the act of God making us
righteous, justified, through faith in Christ Jesus.
This was and is witnessed by the law and the prophets.
Those who aren't Christians can see Christ in us, the Holy Spirit.
When we are justified in Christs blood, it is like we had never sinned before.
Gods grace is sufficiant.
Acts 15:11 says; But we believe that through the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ
we shall be saved in the same manner as they.
This verse is what Peter had spoken to the people.
From there Paul took over with the gospel of Christ and the good news of salva-
tion.
For it is by grace through faith in Jesus Christ that we are saved, or born again is
what Jesus Himself had said.
Jesus knew what was to become of Him when He left heaven to be born here on
earth.
He knew how He would have to die and then be ressurected from death for the
sins of the world.
Just one drop of His blood we are cleaned whaite as snow.
John 5:46 says; For if you believe Moses you would believe Me; For he wrote
about Me.
Jesus was talking to the Jews.
But most did not receive His truth.
They knew the laws that Moses had written down.
But weren't willing to believe that Jesus was Gods only begotten Son.
The Pharasees did not want to give up their prestegious standing in the commun-
ity.
People looked up to them like gods.
1 Peter 1:10 says; Of this salvation the prophets have inquired, and searched
carefully, who prophesied of the grace that would come to you.
Here in this verse Peter is talking about the first coming of Jesus Christ.
Of the prophecy of the grace through faith of salvation.
They looked at all the prophets who had been given the prophecy of the coming
of Christ.
Peter had studied extensively on all of the prophets in the Old Testament.
Romans 3:22 says; even the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ,
to all and on all who believed. For there is no difference.
Some say that because the Israelites, the Jews, are Gods chosen people, that
they have no worries about judgement day.
This verse tells us it is not so.
We will all be judged by the law and what is in our hearts.
It doesn't matter if you are Jewish, or Gentiles, Gods judgement will be the same
who ever you are.
Colossians 3:11 says; Where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcised nor
uncircumcised, barbarian, Seythian slave nor free , but Christ is all and in all.
In this verse it gives a list of people from all walks of life.
In some of them they are dispised by their fellow man.
Some of them are the elete according to their fellow man.
But when Christ is in their hearts, they are all the same.
They have been made righteous through the blood of our Lord Jesus Christ.
In the same respect if they don't have Christ in their hearts they are unclean,
walking dead in their sins.
Romans 3:23 says; for all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.
Gods righteousness and what we believe to be righteous behavior are worlds
apart.
Gods standards are higher than ours.
The only way we can achieve righteousness is through Gods grace.
It is impossible for us to be rightewous on our own.
So you see without God we can do no good.
Galatians 3:22 says; But the Scripture has confined all under sin, that, the pro-
mise by faith in Jesus Christ might be given to those who believe.
The laws of God were not given to man to make them righteous.
They were given to show mankind the need of Jesus Christ in our lives.
It is written that all have been born under sin.
Our flesh will continue to sin unless Jesus Christ is the Lord of our lives.
Even then our flesh will try to take over and try to make us turn away from God.
Our believe in Jesus will help us to turn away from sin.
Romans 3:24 says; being justified freely by His grace through the redemption
that is in Christ Jesus.
We are justified by Gods grace through faith in Jesus Christ.
When we are justified it is like we have never sinned.
But we must have faith in Christ.
We must believe that Jesus is Gods Son and He died on the cross for our sins.
God raised Jesus from the dead three days later so we would have hope for
eternal life.
One drop of Jesus blood, faith in Him, and walking in His ways will make you a
new person.
You will be a child of God wanting to please Him in all that we do.
Ephesians 2:8 says; For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that
not of yourselves; it is the gift of God,
This verse is showing us that there is no other way to be saved.
It is a gift from our heavenly Father.
There is no work that you can do to be saved.
God loves us so much, He wants us to have a good life on this earth.
All we have to do is surender our lives to God.
God is so good to us.
We truly need to praise, worship, and appreciate God for who He is.
Hebrews 9:12 says; Not with the blood of goats and calves but with His own
blood He entered the Most Holy Place once for all, having obtained eternal
redemption.
In the Old Testament sacrafices of goats and calves were made to attone for their
sins.
When Jesus came to the earth born as a human baby things changed.
Jesus is the New Covenant.
Jesus died on the cross for all the sins of the world.
It is His blood that saves us from our sins.
Just one drop of His blood and we are forgiven of our sins.
We no longer have to bring animals as a sacrifice, Jesus did it all.
Hebrews 9:15 says; And for this reason He is the Mediator of the new covenant,
by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions under the first
covenant, that those who are called may receivce the promise of the eternal
inheritance.
This verse is talking about Jesus being the mediatore between us and God.
He did this through His death on the cross.
Jesus died for the sins of the world so that we might have ever lasting life.
For all of God children will inheirit those things in the kingdom of God.
We will spend all of our days in Gods kingdom with Him.
What more could we ask for.
All we have to do is believe in Jesus Christ, Gods Son, and walk in His ways.
When we do that we will be called Gods children.
Romans 3:25 says; who God set forth as a propitiation by His blood through
faith; to demonstrate His righteousness, because in his forbearance God had
passed over the sins that were previously committed.
Propitiation means: An anointed sacrifice
Forbearance means: A refraining from the enforcement of something (as a debt
right, or obligation) that is due.
Since we are unable to justify ourself God had to have a plan that could justify
His children.
We had all broken the laws of God and for that we owed our lives.
So God sent His only bnegotten Son to pay the price for our sins.
God sacrificed His only son so that those who had faith in Him, Jesus Christ,
would have ever lasting life in His kingdom.
Christ paid the debt we owed for our sins, Jesus died for us, even though He had
no sins of His own.
Leviticus 16:15 says; Then he shall kill the goat of the sin offering, which is for
for the people, bring the blood inside and veil, do with that blood as he did with
the blood of the bull, and sprinkle it on the mercy seat and before the mercy
seat.
In the Old Testament they had to offer their very best animals, grains, and so on.
As the Israelites traveled in the desert their sins were great and therefore to atone
for them they had to offer up much for their forgiveness.
Today because of Jesus sacrifice on the cross we no longer have to offer sacri-
fices.
Jesus did it all, and He is our all in all.
Colossians 1:20 says; and by Him to reconcile all things to Himsef, by Him,
whether things on earth or things in heaven; having made peace through the
blood of His cross.
Jesus took all things on Himself.
He brought peace through His blood.
Jesus did all that was needed for each of us to be saved.
It doesn't mean that all men will be saved.
We are saved by Gods grace through faith that Jesus Christ is Gods Son, and we
live in the ways that Jesus lived while He was on earth.
Each of us has to make our own choice.
Either live for the Lord or live for the worldly things.
If you choose the world you will not be saved and have ever lasting life in heaven.
Acts 14:16 says; Who in by gone generations allowed all nations to walk in their
own ways.
He is trying to reach them with words that would draw them to the Lord.
Paul went on to tell them that God did bless the people to show them what He
was about.
He showed them love, joy, peace, and hope for better days ahead.
All these things will draw the lost into the light.
It should show the Chriatians of today that these are the ways to win the lost
souls to God.
To lead them into the light.
We have all these things within us and we need to share them with the lost.
Acts 17:30 says; Truly these times of ignorance God overlooked, but now com-
mands all men everywhere to repent.
Paul is telling the people that God was not over looking people who would not live
by His law as He had done for many years.
The people had to repent from their sins.
That God had set a day for judgement.
Everyone would have to answer to the Lord for the way they lived on this earth.
Judgement day is coming.
God is a loving God, and He wants all the lost to come to Him and He will show
you just how much He loves all of us.
It is our choice, each of us have to choose who we want to serve.
Romans 3:26 says; to demonstrate at the present time His righteousness, that
He might be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus.
God want to show us that He is just in all things.
He is faithful in all of His promises He has made to us.
If we believe in Jesus Christ and we have faith in Him that, He is indeed Gods
Son, and we live in His ways, we will be saved.
We will be part of Gods family.
We will be one of Gods children.
