ADDICTIONS
The Lord gave me addictions to write about.
So I looked it up and addict means to devote or surrender (oneself) to something
habitually or obsessively.
In that case we are all covered with addictions.
The Lord showed me groups of things that even Christias are addicted to.
The first was drugs, (legal or illegal), alcohol, and cigarettes.
These things are probably the worst because they can kill you from there use.
Drugs, whether they are perscriptions or illegal, can kill your brain cells and also
effect your other internal organs like your heart, kidneys, and liver.
Alcohol does pretty much the same thing.
Cigarettes effect your lungs and heart.
The next group is food, sugar, chocolate, and sodas.
These thing also will kill you but just slower than the first group.
They cause weight gain and make your organs work harder.
Your joints, back, and legs also are effected by the excess weight.
The next group is things that effect you spiritually.
Things like pornography and sexual immoralities.
These things really make a mess of your spiritual being and are almost worse
than anything that you do to your body.
Pornography is pure evil and has no place in a Christians life or anyones life for
that matter.
The next group was TV, radio, play station games, and computers.
This last group you can find some pretty good stuff as long as you don't put them
before God.
Computers, TV, and radio are tools we can use to spread the good news about
Jesus and salvation.
Anyway you get the picture.
I pondered on this and I came up with the one addiction I have, besides smoking,
was the need to be in the presence of the Lord.
I thought about all the changes in my life since my need for the Lord has
increased.
They have been good compared to anything in the past I was addicted to.
I pray that my need for God will continue to grow with each day that passes.
I'm trying to quit smoking but not my addiction for the Lord.
That is one addiction I feel all Christians need to have.
They would be more committed to God.
They would shed their flesh.
They would always put God first.
They would praise and worship the Lord because that is what they need is to be
in the presence of the Lord.
They would do everything that would glorify the Lord.
When we can get to this point all who see us will see Jesus.
My prayer is that who ever reads these words, the Lord gave me, will look at them
self and if they have any of the addictions the Lord showed me you will work
on getting rid of them. Then I pray that you will become addicted to being in
the presence of the Lord.
