JUDGEMENT DEFENDED
In this lesson we will be looking at Gods judgement.
Is God being fair with the judgement?
Do we deserve to be judged?
Is Gods judgement fair to all people?
I am sure by the end of this lesson the answers to all three questions will be yes!
Romans 3:1 says; What advantage then has the Jew, or what is the profit of cir-
cumcision?
The Jewish people are God's chosen people.
They were given the law and God protected them from their enemies.
They worshiped God and lived by the laws.
The circumcision set them apart from the other nations.
But then they started thinking that they were better than all the other people.
Pride filled them and soon sin moved in and they no longer lived by God's laws.
Because God is a just God, He had to turn away from the Jewish people.
The circumcision was only a ritual and no long meant anything.
They no longer had a heart for God and did what the flesh wanted.
Romans 3:2 says; Much in every way! Chiefly because to them were committed
the oracles of God.
This verse is saying that the Jewish people had many advantages.
In the Old Testament, the laws, and the covenant, that God gave to the Israel
notion, was awesome because they were so close to God.
But in God's Word it shows that it is for all the people.
I can't count the number of times I have read in the Bible that God is no respector
of a person.
In other words we are all the same in His eyes.
Deutoronomy 4:5-8 says; 5. Surely I have taught you statutes and judgement,
just as the Lord my God commanded me, that you should act according to
them in the land which you go to possess. 6. Therefore be careful to
observe them, for this is your wisdom and your understanding in the sight of
the peoples who will hear all these statutes, and say, "Surely this great Nation
is a wise and understanding people." 7. For what great nation is there that
has God so near to it, as the Lord our God is to us; for whatever reason we
may call upon Him? 8. And what great nation is there that has such statutes
and righteous judgements as are in all this law which I set before you this
day?
Statutes means: To set up laws for a nation, corporation, and so on. To have
regulations and boundries.
In this verse Moses was the one speaking for God.
Moses always gives God the honor and praise for the service Moses does for
God, for God deserves all the glory.
Gods blessings on Israel was causing the other nations to look and see just what
their God was like.
The Israelites were living very close to God and so they were obligated to honor
God for all He had done for them.
By them living for God it revealed the covenant between God and them.
Romans 3:3 says; For what if someone did not believe? Will their unbelief make
the faithfulness of God without effort?
Yes there was unbelief among the Israelites.
God honored His promise with the Israelites, because God is not a liar He had to
to honor His promises.
But that didn't change the fact God had made a promise, (a covenant) with them.
God is faithful to His children so without effort God kept His promise to the Israrl-
ites.
Because of their disobediants God did not allow the one generation to enter into
the land of mild and honey.
But their children did.
God will not bless us if we are disobediant.
That is what makes Gods justice fair.
Even now not only the Israelites but all Christians turn away from God.
We only believe what seems realistic to the world.
God may turn away from us for a time but if we repent from our sins God will hear
our prayers.
Yet God continues to be faithful to all of His children.
When are e going to wake up and start being faithful to God?
Take one day at a time and dedicate that day to God.
One day it will become something you do because that is what you want to do.
Hebrews 4:2 says; For indeed the gospel was preached to us as well as to them;
but the word which they heard did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in
those who heard it.
Like the Israelites that Moses lead out of Egypt heard the word but were in disbe-
lief, so have many since then.
God promised them the land of mild nd honey but they didn't believe so they
never entered that land.
But their children believed so they entered the land that was promised to the older
generation.
God is alling all to believe and He will give us rest.
But as long as we are in disbelief we will never be able to rest in Him.
God is calling the people but we must believe in all of His promises so that we
can come into His peace and rest in Him.
2 Timothy 2:13 says; If we are faithless, He remains faithful; He cannot deny
Himself.
As young Christians it is easy for the enemy to draw us away from God because
oour faith is weak.
As we mature our faith grows too.
Even though our faithfulness to God faulters He is still with us.
Jesus will always be faithful that is just His nature.
Why else would He allow man to nail Him to a cross?
He wants to bless us with only good things and won't deny Himself of giving to
those who have asked Him into their hearts.
Jesus loves us so much that we can't even imagine how much He loves us.
Romans 3:4 says; Certainly not! Indeed, let God be true but every man a liar.
As it is written: " That you may be justified in your words, And may over-
come when you are judged."
God is holy and true to His Word.
Man in the flesh is a liar.
Even when we ask Jesus to be Lord of our lives we seem to let our flesh get in the
way.
Being disobediant in Gods laws just seems to happen, our flesh wants and we
do.
If we repent we are justified in Gods Word.
Job 40:8 says; "Would you indeed annal My Judgement? Would you condemn
Me that you may be justified.
Job thought himself to be a vile sinner.
That was the only thing that could account for all of his loses, his family, live
stock and all of his money.
Job feared Gods judgement because of the way he thought of himself, not what
God thought of Job.
It was the enemy, Satan doing all these things.
In reality Job was God's faithful servant.
God loved Job and was with Job the whole time.
God had justified Job: for his faithfulness to Him.
God replaced all that Satan had taken away plus more when all was said and
done.
God had made promises to Job and He fulfilled all those promises.
John 3:33 says; He who has received His testimony has certified that God is true
Certified means to seal.
In the early church many of the people couldn't read or write.
So they used seals to convey a clear message.
When they heard the Godpel of Christ Jesus they knew that God was true.
Prophets told them of the coming of Christ in the Old Testaments.
Psalms 62:9 says; Surely men of low degree are a vapor, Men of high degree
are lie; If they are weighed on this scales, They are altogether lighter than
vapor.
A man of low degree, who believes in God, is like a vapor here today and gone
and gone tomorrow.
For we only have a short time to live in this world.
But the man who holds himself of high degree is a liar.
He judges himself by the worlds standards.
By Gods standards the first man is His own.
The second man weighs light because he is all puffed up with pride.
The first man is justified by God.
The second man is not justified by God.
The first man lives by Gods laws.
The second man lives by the worlds standards.
Psalms 51:4 says; Against You, You only, have I sinned, And done this evil in
Your sight--That You may be found just when You speak, And blameless
when You judge.
In this verse David had sinned and our sins touch more than ourself.
David had sinned against the nation he was given to rule.
But worse than that he had sinned against God.
As David repented and asked forgiveness Gods heart went out to David.
God justified David, which means, He forgave David and it was like he had never
sinned.
Romans 3:5 says; But if our unrighteousness demmonstrates the righteousness
of God, what shall we say? Is God unjust who inflicts wrath? (I speak as a
man).
Paul is asking the people rediculous questions to wake them up.
Do we think that us being and livng unrighteous lives that God will not get angry
with us?
If God gives us rewards and blessings for being disobediant, would that make His
judgement just?
Then what would God give His obediant and righteous children?
Galatians 3:15 says; Brethre, I speak in the manner of men: Though it is only a
mans covenant, yet if it is confirmed, no one annuls or adds to it.
What Paul is talking about is a will,.
Because he talks about mans covenant with man.
If it was a covenant between God and man, there would be things that would have
to live up to.
If we were disobediant God would not bless us until we repented and turned away
from our sins.
Romans 3:6 says; Certainly not! For then how will God judge the world?
Paul was answering the question he asked in verse 5.
God will judge His children first if we are living in sin.
He will not stand for His children acting in an unrighteous manner.
Being in disobediance to Gods laws will bot be tolerated.
Genesis 18:25 says; Far be it from You to do such a thing as this, to slay the
righteous with the wicked, so that the righteous should be as the wicked; far
be it from You. Shall not the Judge of all the earth do right?
This verse is speaking of the righteous that are following the ways of the wicked.
Those looking on would not be able to tell the difference between the wicked and
the righteous man.
And in fact, it is easier for soneone who is wicked to drag the righteous down to
their level.
I have heard many say that even though their husband/ wife isn't saved they will
be able to pull them into the light.
But it is usually the righteous that ends up compromising their beliefs.
This is a warning because the Judge Jesus Christ doesn't compromise.
His judgement will be fair, to all who face Him on judgement day.
There is not one that will escape judgement.
If you remain faithful and true to God's laws, while living on earth, and repent when
you sin, you will have favor with our Lord Jesus Christ.
Romans 3:7 says; For if the truth of God has increased though my lie to His
glory, why am I also still judged as a sinner.
Sin does not, I repeat does not, glorify God !!!!!
If you are living in sin and someone is appaled at your behavior, does not mean
that you lead them to the light.
It means that they did not want to be anything like you so the searched for the
truth and found God, or should I say God found them.
So these wicked ones think they have served the Lord and should be rewarded,
it is time to WAKE UP !!
While they were in sin they were not glorifing the Lord our God.
Sin is sin and there is no way to reverse it but to repent and turn from our sins.
Romans 3:8 says; And why not say, "Let us do evil that good may come?"--as
we are slandersouly reported and as some affirm that we say; Their condem-
nation is just.
Paul is simply telling the people that this point of vbiew is rediculous.
I know I have said this before but sin does not glorify God.
Paul is saying that those living in sin will be judged for their sin and their con-
demnation is just.
So not try to excuse sin for if you know the laws or not there is no excuss.
Romans 5:20 says; Moreover the law entered that the offence might abound.
But where sin abounded, grace abounmded much more.
Once the people know the law the sins became worse because they knew better.
But no matter how much sin Gods grace could cover it all.
We have to ask Jesus into our hearts, ( God's only begotten Son), and repent
from our sins and we will be forgiven.
Then we must learn to walk in the Lord's ways.
The scriptures I used in this lesson are: Romans 3:1-8, 5:20, Hebrews 4:2,
Deutoronomy 4:5-8, 2 Timothy 2:13, Job 40:8, John 3:33, Psalms 62:9,
51:4, Galatians 3:15, Glenesis 18:25.
My prayer is that every one who reads this lesson, the Lord gave me, will come to
know the Lord more and have a more intimate relationship with Him. That the
these lessons would encourage you to get into the Lords word, that it will go
from your minds to your hearts. The more word you have in you the harder it
will be for the enemy to deceive you in the end of days.
God bless you and your family, may the Lord keep you close to Him.
PRAISE GOD OUR FATHER, JESUS OUR SAVIOR, AND THE HOLY SPIRIT
THAT LIVES WITHIN ALL CHRISTIANS.
