DEATH AND LIFE
This lesson will be on death and life.
We are born in sin because of Adam and Eve.
The original sin that brought sin into this world.
But then Jesus was born and lived a sinless life.
Jesus is God's only Son and He came to deliver us from our sins by taking all the
world and dying on the cross.
If we follow in Adams way, the world, we are walking dead in our sins.
If we follow Jesus and walk in His ways we are forgiven of all of our sins.
Jesus brings us life, but Adam brings us death.
Romans 5:12 says; Therefore, just so though on man sin entered the world, and
death through sin, and thus death spread to all men, because all sinned.
When God created the earth there was no sin.
It was perfect, God spoke everything into existance and it was good.
But when Adam and Eve sinned and took of the tree of life, sin entered the world.
All are born into sin because sin is in the world.
Our flesh, like Adam and Eve, seek the things of the world.
Therefore since sin is in the world we have all sinned.
Unless we have asked Jesus into our hearts and we have the Holy Spirit in us.
Sin brings death.
Christ brings life.
We can't live in the darkness of the world and live in the light of Christ at the same
time.
We either live in the darkness, in sin, of the world, or we live in the light, righte-
ousness, of Christ.
There is no light in the darkness and no darkness in the light.
The choice is our whether we live in darkness, in sin, or in the light, in Christ.
1 Corinthians 15:21 says; For since by man came death, by Man also came the
resurrection of the dead.
The first man brought sin into the world, and the penalty of sin is death.
But God had a plan that would bring life to the people.
God sent His only begotten Son in the form of a Man.
Jesus was born as a baby.
He felt pain like man feels pain.
The only difference was that He never sinned.
Yet when the time came He took all the sins of the world upon Himself so that
whoever believed in Him would have ever lasting life.
Genesis 2:17 says; but of the tree of knowledge of good and evil you shall not
eat,, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.
God gave Adam and Eve all of the trees to eat from but one.
God warned them not to eat from this tree but Satan tempted Eve to try it and
then gave it to Adam to eat.
This was the first rebellious act man did against God.
God wanted man to receive wisdom from their creator.
But they took the fruit from the tree of knowledge instead of seeking God.
We do the same today we seek man for the answers we need instead of seeking
God.
Will we ever learn?
Romans 5:13 says; For until the law sin was in the world, but sin is not imputed
when there is no law.
Inputed means: to charge to ones account.
Sin was in the world from Adam to Moses.
But no sins were imputed before there was the law.
When God gave Moses the Law that is when sin was imputed to man.
Without the Law God didn't keep account of sins.
The Law was given to show us what sin was so that we would know what we are
accountable for.
We must take the Law seriously because when judgement day comes we will be
held accountable for our sins.
1 John 3:4 says; Whoever commits sin also commits lawlessness and sin is
lawlessness.
This verse is not speaking of just one sin but of a lifestyle of sin.
Lawlessness is not an absence of the law but a rebellion of the law.
When you rebel against God's Word you are in sin which brings death.
Adam and Eve rebelled against God when they ate the fruit from the tree of know-
ledge.
That rebellion brought sin into the world.
Romans 5:14 says; Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses even over
those who had not sinned according to the likeness of transgression of Adam,
who is a type of Him who was to come.
Even though those after Adam and before Moses didn't have the law they still sin-
ned.
If they didn't seek God they sinned and death took them.
If they sought God but chose to not follow what He said they sinned and sin
brings death.
We know this because all of them parished.
Noah's family lived but all the others death reigned.
1 Corinthians 15:21-22 says; 21. For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ all
shall be made alive. 22. But each one in his own order: Christ the firstfruits,
afterward those who are Christ's at His coming.
In verse twenty-one it means that in man comes death.
Adams sin brought sin on all of mankind.
Now Christ was the perfect sacrifice and brought righteousness to those who be-
lieve in Him.
Paul explains that one man, Adam, made all mankind unrighteous.
But the second Man, Christ made many men righteous.
If you follow man it brings death.
But if you follow Christ He brings life.
We must learn to walk in the Lords ways and seek Him in all things.
Romans 5:15 says; But the free gift is not like the offense. For if by the one
man's offense many died, much more the grace of God and the gift by the
grace of the one Man, Jesus Christ, abounded to many.
This verse talks about the many that died because of Adam.
But then it goes on to tell that many more will live because of what Jesus did for
us when He died for the worlds sins.
The free gift is salvation.
By Gods grace through faith in Jesus we will live forever.
God's grace is all sufficiant.
God gives us all a portion of faith.
The gift of life is free.
No man can buy his way into heaven.
The gift of life is free, but only through Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior.
Isaiah 53:11 says; He shall see the labor of His sopul, and be satisfied. By His
acknowledge My righteous Servant shall justify many, For He shall bear their
iniquities.
This verse is talking about God being satisfied with the work Jesus did when He
came to earth in the form of a man.
That Jesus would be a righteous Servant.
That many would be justified because Jesus would die on the cross with all of
the sins of world on Him.
Jesus Christ brings life for those who believe in Him.
Romans 5:16 says; And the gift is not like that which came through the one who
sinned. For the judgement which came from one offence resulted in condem-
nation, but the free gift which came from many offenses resulted in justifica-
tion.
Adams one offense brought death and eternity in hell.
Because Jesus paid for all the sins of the world with His life, those who believe in
Him are justified through Jesus.
With justification or righteousness comes ever lasting life in God's kingdom.
Jesus helps the believers to live a righteous life.
Romans 5:17 says; For if by the one man's offense death reigned through the
one, much more those who recieve abundance of grace and of the gift of right-
eousness will reigne in life through the One, Jesus Christ.
Through Adams offense death reigned.
Satan thought he had won.
Satan has no real power when God steps in.
So when God sent His only Son into the world Satan knew that he couldn't stand
against Jesus.
Therefore more will be saved than the number that faced death.
God is all powerful, all knowing and none can stand against Him.
God wants all the people to turn to Him because He loves every single one born
on the earth.
Romans 5:18 says; Therefore, as through one man's offense judgement came to
all men, resulting in condamnation, even so through one Man's righteous act
the free gift came to all men, resulting in justification of life.
In this verse, like all those in this lesson, God wants us to understand Him and
the reason He did what He did.
Satan thought he had out smarted God when he got Adam and Eve to rebel
against God.
And yes death did reign for a time.
There is still sin in the world, and sin brings death.
For those who follow man, you will spend eternity in hell with Satan the one who
hates you and cares nothing for you.
Then Jesus was born and with His birth came hope for mankind.
Jesus paid the price of all the sins of the world but death couldn't keep Him down.
Jesus had no sins of His own.
For those who believe in Him we are justified and are no longer being held in
bondage by our sins.
We will have everlasting life in heaven with our creator who truly loves us, and
cares for us.
Isaiah 53:11-12 says; 11. He shall see the labor of His soul, and be satisfied.
By His knowledge My righteous Servant shall justify many. For He shall bear
their iniquities. 12. Therefore I will divide Him a portion with the great.
And
He shall divide the spoil with the strong. Because He poured out His soul un-
to death, And He was numbered with the transgressors, And He bore the sin
of many, And made intercession for the transgressors.
Knowledge in verse eleven means that Jesus had insight as to what His mission
was.
Jesus is Gods righteous Servant.
Justify means that we are aquited of all our sins and are made righteous.
Jesus died for our sins, all the sins of the world, He defeated death.
In verse twelve it talks about Jesus will divide the spoils of victory with His serv-
ants.
When they speak of the great and the strong they are speaking about Jesus'
servants after His rejection, suffering, and death.
Jesus goes to the Father for all of His servants.
Whithout Jesus in us we would never make it to our heavenly Father.
Jesus is like a lawyer for us, His servants.
He goes before the Father and defends us.
As long as we repent from our sins when Jesus goes to the Father, our case is
dismissed and we are made righteous.
1 Corinthians 15:21 says; For since by man came death by Man also came re-
surrection of the dead.
Man, Adam brought death into the world.
God sent His only Son into the world in the form of a Man.
When Jesus died on the cross, with all the sins of the world on Him, God resur-
rected Him from the dead three days later.
Now those who serve the Lord have hope of defeating death also.
1 Corinthians 15:45 says; And so it is written, "The first man Adam became a
living being." The last Adam became a life-giving spirit.
God breathed life into Adams material body.
This verse is talking about material body and immaterial body, our spirit.
The material body is subject to death.
Our spirits are immortal.
The body directed by our flesh is subject to death.
The spirit will go on to either heaven or hell depending on who you serve.
If you serve the world, man, you spiritual destination will be hell.
If you serve the Lord you spirits destination will be heaven.
The choice is ours.
John 12:32 says; And I, if I am lifted up from the earth; will draw all peoples to
Myself.
Jesus was talking to the people in this verse.
He was speaking of His resurrection from the dead.
All the people would become part of God's family.
But you have to believe in Jesus and know that He is God's only Son.
He siad He would draw all people to Himself because He intercedes to the Fath-
er on our behalf.
He died and rose again for all the sins of all the people.
Romans 5:19 says; For as by one man's disobedience many were made sin-
ners, so also by one Man's obvedience many will be made righteous.
By Adams sin all men became sinners.
By Jesus death many were made righteous.
But you have to believe in Jesus and have the Holy Spirit within you.
We must repent from our sins and live in the ways of the Lord.
Through Jesus Christ we are made righteous.
Philippians 2:8 says; And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled
Himself and became obediant to the point of death, even the death of the
cross.
Paul is explaining that Jesus is God's Son, yet He is also fully man.
He humbled Himself to be a servant.
He came to earth as a man.
Feeling pain the way we do, but also the emotions that we go through.
Jesus was an obediant servant to the Father to the point of death.
Death on the cross was the most gruesome form of punishment.
It was also the most humiliating form of punishment.
The Jewish p[eople viewed crecifixion as a curse from God.
Romans 5:20 says; Moreover the law entered that the offense might abound. But
where sin abounded, grace abounded much more.
The law magnified sin.
Once the laws were in place it made it formally abundent.
The law was written just to show us how sinful we are.
But sin will never exceed the grace of God.
Sin isn't as much of a threat when we compare it to God's grace.
Our flesh will lead us on the path of sin.
But our spirits will lead us on the path to God's grace.
John 15:22 says; If I had not come and spoken to them, they would have no sin,
but now they have no excuse for their sin.
Jesus came to reveal to the people that God the Father and Himself were one.
It is a sin to reject Jesus, for if you reject Jesus you are also rejecting the Father.
You can't hate Jesus without hating the Father.
Jesus made it plain that there was no excuse for rebelling against Him and the
Father.
It will only bring death, and eternal suffereing for the souls that rebel against
Jesus.
1 Timothy 1:14 says; And the grace of our Lord was exceedingly abundant, with
faith and love which are in Jesus Christ.
God's grace is undeserved by all of mankind.
But God gives it freely to those who believe in Jesus.
Just think about it, do you deserve God's grace?
I know that I didn't.
But He gives it freely to those who believe Jesus is God's only begotten Son.
PRAISE THE LORD !!
How could we not be in love with and honor Jesus for all He has done for us?
Romans 5:21 says; so that as sin reigned in death, even so grace might reign
through righteousness to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Sin Came into the world through Adam.
Much greater grace came through Jesus Christ.
For those who believe Jesus is God's only begotten Son, ask Him into your heart,
repent from your sins, live in His ways, and serve Him in all that you do, you
will have everlasting life in heaven with our Lord Jesus Christ.
Worship Him for who He is and give thanks daily for all He has done for you, and
for what He is going to do for you.
Seek Him daily and get His word into your hearts.
The scriptures I sued in this lesson are: Romans 5:12-21, 1 Corinthians 15:21,
15:22, 15:45, Genesis 2:17, 1John 3:4, Isaiah 53:11, 53:12,
John 12:32,
15:22, Philippians 2:8, 1 Timothy 1:14.
My prayer is that whoever reads this lesson, the Lord gave me, it showed you that
sin as bad as it is, grace is more powerful, abundant, and will bring life to
those who believe. God's love for all of us is what will turn our lives around
from the sins that have kept us in bondage. That how we, Christians, act will
draw those who don't know the Lord, as long as we glorify the Lord Jesus
Christ, in all that we do. Seek God's will for your life and serve Him always.
God bless you and your family, may the Lord keep you close to Him.
PRAISE GOD OUR FATHER, JESUS OUR SAVIIOR, AND THE HOLY SPIRIT
THAT LIVES WITHIN ALL CHRISTIANS.
