DOERS AND HEARERS
Many people claim to be Christians.
They go to church every Sunday morning and night and also on Wednesdays.
They sing the praise songs.
They listen to the pastor and read the scriptures along with the pastor.
They put money in the plate when it is passed around.
They put their time in the church.
When they go home the Bible goes on the book shelf until they go to church
the next week.
By the time they got home they forgot what the sermon was about.
They go to work and don't think twice about doing a shrude business deal that
ends up hurting someone that has less than they do.
They call themself a good business man.
But if you ask them what the pastor preached on they don't have a clue.
Further more they don't think it is important enough to remember.
These type of people do not have Gods love in their hearts.
They look to the world for the important things in their lives.
Who do they consider gods in their lives?
Probably money, power, prestige, and having the right kind of friends that can
help them climb the corporate ladder.
Now there is the Christian who is truly seeking the Lord.
They go to church and hear the same sermon.
They check themselves and make sure that they are living according to the
sermon that had been preached.
If they find fault in their behavior they ask the Lord to forgive them and for help to
change their ways.
They also put money in the plate when it is passed around.
Maybe they didn't have as much but God understands.
When they sing the praise songs they sing them from their hearts.
They worship God for who He is, the creator of all things in the heavens above,the
earth below, and the things beneath the earth.
They live what they learned from the sermons they heard.
They go to work and they treat their fellow workers with respect.
They witness to those who will listen to them.
They study their Bibles and continue to seek more of the Lord until they go to
church the next week.
These kind of Christians are doers of the Word of God.
God will bless them as they go out and bless others with the Word of God.
The hearers have no works.
They bare no fruit.
They do not have God in their hearts.
The world is their god.
The doers on the other hand have God in their hearts.
They do the Lords biding daily.
Their harvest is great for they bare good fruit.
They love their fellow man and pray for those who don't know the Lord.
My prayer is that who ever read these words, the Lord has given me, will search
their hearts and if they see any part of the hearer in them that they will ask the
Lord to help them to be a doers.
