SALVATION PART ONE
The Lord has put it on my heart to write a paper on salvation. This is so
important not only to those who don't know the Lord. But also to Christians who
are confused about salvation.
There are so many misconceptions in the world and the churches. There will
be eight parts to this subject of salvation.
God made salvation so easy. Yet man has complecated it to the point that
people are confused. They think that it is only for a few choosen people. That
it would be imposible for them to gain salvation for themselves.
The truth is that Gods plan for salvation is meant for all the people that have
been born and will be born. All people in every country of this world. But it is our
choice to accept Gods gift or not to accept salvation.
Jesus died on the cross for all the sins of all the people of the world. That
includes you, me and anyone who has yet to be born. We are all born with sin
in us because of the sin of Adam and Eve.
First of all we need to know just exactly what salvations is. What does it
mean? Well, by Gods grace, He takes and forgives us of every sin we have
committed. By faith, which He gives us, we know we are forgiven.
It is like starting all over again., That is why it is refered to as being born
again. You will be a new person. To start over again and turn away from your
old ways you were living.
When you ask Jesus, Gods only begotten Son, into your life, Gods Spirit
enters your body and dwells with your spirit. You will no longer want to live in
your old ways.
The second thing is who is salvation for? It is for all people that have been
born or will be born.
It doesn't matter what sins you have committed before you ask Jesus to be
the Lord of your life.
The third thing is what do I have to do to receive salvation? The answer is
simple. You have to believe that Jesus is Gods only begotten Son and turn a-
way from the sins that have been dragging you down the path to hell.
Salvation is a free gift from God. We have all fallen short of entering the
kingdom of God.
God has given me the what, who, and how to work on in the first part of the
subject of salvation. Now we are going to dig a little deeper and see the truths
come out.
I say we because I am holding the pen in my hand and writing the words
the Lord is putting in me to put down on the paper.
This is not about what I can do. It is about what the Lord can do through
me. The Lord gives all His children gifts, talents , that we should use to server
Him to get the truth about God into the world. Okay lets get started.
WHAT
IS SALVATION
Salvation is the forgiveness of all the sins we have committed to the point
when we ask Jesus to be Lord of our lives. God forgives them and forgets that
they have ever happened.
It doesn't matter what you have done in your past. You cannot change it.
Tlhere is no need to worry about it anymore. God has forgiven and forgotten
that they ever happened. He will never remember that they ever had taken
place.
This is not to say you will never sin again. You must turn away from your
sins. Ask forgiveness daily. Then do your very best to repent from doing them
again. But if you do just keep asking for forgiveness and ask the Lord to help
you to reframe from doing whatever it is that you have been having trouble with.
God is slow to get angry and quick to forgive us if we only go th Him and ask.
But we must repent from doing whatever it is that you are having trouble with. I
know that I repeated myself on that but it is something that is very important to
remember.
There are things that we don't even think of as sins but will keep you from
having a more intimate relationship with the Lord. Worry, pride, gossip, little
white lies, and unforgiveness.
Do you ever find yourself worrying about things? Well if you like me that is
one thing that I have had to ask many times for God to forgive. I know as hu'-
mans we all tend to worry about things. But if you continue to ask for help in
that area it will get easier to just go to the Lord in prayer instead of worrying a-
bout it. You will find that you saved yourself another grey hair or two. The Lord
will answer your prayers.
When you are worrying about things you are showing no faith or trust in God.
Remember salvation is by Gods grace through faith. When you are born again
you have faith and trust in God. Know that His Spirit is living within you. He will
never leave or forsake you.
As you get to know God better you will come to trust Him more. You will see
all of the answered prayers and just be amazed at how much God loves you. As
one of Gods children now He will supply all of your needs. He knows you are go-
ing to need them before you realize you do . But He wants us to go to Him and
ask for what ever it is.
God will not give you all the things that you want. Because God knows what
is best for us sometimes the answer is no you cannot have that. We do the
same thing with our children. If they ask for something that they are not capable
of having without getting hurt we don't give it to them. Face it we are not always
responsible enough to have all the things that we want. We all have out weak-
nesses. God knows what they are and won' let us have anything that is not
good for us or get hurt with them.
Are you asking, how do I get to know God better? Well you read His word
daily. Sounds simple doesn't it. Well I am here to tell you that I am the first one
to admit that I don't read the Bible near enough. That is why it has taken me so
many years to have a more intimate relationship with Him. Seems like some-
thing always comes up when you had planned to read. The enemy is good at
that. If he can keep you from knowing God more than he can deceive you into
beleiving a lie straight from hell.
WHO IS SALVATION FOR?
What God does for one He will do for everyone. It doesn't matter what color
your skin is. Whether you are rich or poor. What country you are from. What
language you speak. God understands them all. Salvation is for all who have
been born and lived in this world and will be born.
It doesn't matter what sins you have committed. Salvation is for the serial
killer as much as anyone else. Sin is sin and we all need to be forginen for our
sins.
You see God looks at sin like there is no sin greater than another. Don't let
anyone tell you that you are just too far gone that God can't forgive you. That is
another lie straight from hell.
As humans we look at sins like some are worse than others. We say I would
never kill someone. But let me ask you this. Have you ever contributed to some-
one gossiping about someone else? Be real honest because this is one thing
that we all have been guilty of.
When you gossip most of it is all lies. You can kill a persons character by
telling lies about them. Have you ever said, I hate it when people talk behind my
back? I know I have and I do. It is not enough not to get caught up in the gossip
but you need to remind the ones that are gossiping that you don't want to be in=
volved with it. As a kid I remember my mom telling me if you can't say some-
thing nice about someone don't say anything at all. That was very good advise
and when I hear gossip I try not to repeat anything that I heard. It is none of our
business for one thing. It is between God and that person. We have no right
judging anyone. Worry about your own sins and leave theirs alone.
That is not to say that you can't go one on one with that person and try to
help them. If they refuse to listen just walk away and give it to God. Pray for
them.
What about those little white lies we all tell once in awhile? God hates a liar.
So telling lies is just as bad a if you went up and killed someone or gossiped a-
bout someone. Still a sin all of them.
Has someone really hurt you before? Have you forgiven them? It is hard to
do sometimes. If you have ever been abused by a parent or a spose you know
what I am talking about. But you must forgive them. Unforgiveness is also a sin.
Gods word says if you cannot forgive someone else He cannot forgive you. Wow
that is a tough one isn't it. Sometimes you have to ask God to help you forgive
that person. Sometimes it can take years as it did in my life. Until I let it go and
started praying for that person and asking the Lord to help you forgive them and
keep going back and asking Him to help you. Eventually the forgiveness will
come from your heart and not just saying that you forgive them. You will feel the
difference in your heart and you will feel free from the chain of unforgiveness that
has been holding you back. Your intamate relationship will beging to grow and
your heart will soar like an eagle.
So you see we have all fallen short of entering the kingdom of God. That is
why salvation is for all people. Those who think they are better than someone
else must face the truth. We are all sinners and need salvation. That is the
only thing that will save us from spending eternity in hell rather than with our
savior, Jesus Christ, in the kingdom of God. Praise the Lord !!!!
HOW DO I RECEIVE SALVATION
Salvation is a free gift from God. You must believe that Jesus is Gods only
begotten Son and ask Jesus to be the Lord of your life. Turn from your sins and
live to glorify the Lord in all that you do.
The thing is that you have to want this with all of your heart. You have to
want to serve the Lord at all times. That means that you have to turn away from
the way you have been living and seek God in all that you do.
You see it is all about our hearts. Do you truly desire Jesus to be Lord of your
life. God hears you when you as Jesus into your life, but He looks into your
heart to see if you are just saying the words or you are truly seeking God and
want to live a godly life.
Some of the churches today say you have to do this or that. Jumping through
hoops to speak. It turns so many away because they think that they are not
good enough or are unable to do all that the church requires.
In the early church it was circumcision. Today many say it is to be baptised
in water. Both are fine and they are outward signes of declaring that you have
given your heart to Jesus.
Water baptismal is an outward showing of washing our sins away. But wait a
minute , didn't Jesus do that when He died on the cross and His blood is what
washed our sins away? That is exactly right. Jesus did it all. So you see
water baptismal is not a requirement to receive the free gift of salvation and the
forgiveness of all your sins.
God doesn't care what our outward signs are. He only looks in your hearts to
see is you are sincere and truly want to be part of His family. Do you? It will
mean changing your ways but that is not such a bad thing. You were looking for
something better than what the world had been offering you. At least that is the
way I felt about it.
My life changed for the better. Gods love, joy, hope, and peace is what I had
been searching for a long time. I was ready to give up on life. I could see no-
thing good . But God filled that emptiness in me with the Holy Spirit and made
me whole. He will do the same for you.
As humans we look at the outward signs. If we cannot see it that it can't be
so. Let what is in your heart speak to you and know that God is with you. He
will never leave or forsake you.
We all know how two faced people can be. They can play the role on the out-
side. Pin a heart of gold on their chest so to speak. While in thier hearts they
are unforgiving and full of hate. Thier hearts are hard and black as coal.
They can fool people but they can't fool God. God knows each of our hearts
and that is where it counts. God is nobodies fool !!!!!!!! You cannot hide anything
from God. He knows you better than you know yourself.
The two thieves that hung on the crosses, one to the right of Jesus and the
other to the left of Jesus. These men are an example what Jesus will do for
you.
The one thief said I deserve to be here on this cross. But you are innocent
and asked Jesus for mercy. Jesus said that he was forgiven and would be in
kingdom of God that very day.
The other thief was hard hearted and mocked Jesus I assure you that thief
is spending eternity in hell. They both had a choice and they made thier choice
Which do you choose?
What Jesus did for the one thief He will do for all. God is the same today as
He was yesterday and will be tomorrow. So you see it is up to us. He wants
all to receive the gift of salvation so that we can spent eternity in heaven.
We can't change God but He can change us if we truly desire to be changed.
You will be changed if it is your hearts desire.
I heard a preacher tell the congregation that you can't ask Jesus into your
heart. Yet there is scripture after scripture that says just call on Me and you
will receive the gift of salvation.
Read for yourselves in the Bible what God has to say on salvation. I have
written down some pages of scriptures that tell us what God has to say agout
salvation. Study them and seek more. I only put a small percent to give you
somewhere to start looking there are plenty more in the Bible.
Get to know Him through His Word and prayer. Speak to Him from your
hearts. You will receive an answer in one way or another.
Sometimes He will have you open the Bible right to what you were asking
Him about. You know it had tro be God because you had no idea where to look
for the answer.
Other times He will send someone to you that will give you the answer with-
out you even asking the question. You know it had to be God. How else would
they know what you had asked God?
Sometimes He will come to you in your dreams. God knows what it will
take for us to understand what we are confused about.
If another person gives you information make sure that what they have told
you is the truth. Look in the Bible and see if that is what Gods word says.
The Bible tells us that when we receive our salvation confess with our
mouth what God has done for us. Give Him all the praise and glory for He is
worthy.
Go to the Lord in prayer and ask Him into your heart. Ask forgiveness of
your sins. Ask Him to be the Lord of your life. If it is the desire of your heart
He will answer. You will feel like someone just turned on all the lights after you
have been living in darkness your whole life.
God has made the gift of salvation free so no man can boast and say he did
this or that to receive his or her salvation. All the glory, praise, and thanks go
to God.
If you believe that Jesus is Gods only begotten Son you will not parrish but
have ever lasting life.
It is so simple and yet man has tied strings to it to make it complecated.
Just turn away from your sins and do your very best to live a godly life. Your
life should glorify God in all that you do.
We have all had problems in our lives. Some say God did not promise us a
rose garden. I like to think that He did. The roses are beautiful, smell good
too. But don't forget the thorns. They hurt and sometimes are hard to remove.
Even when you get them out it will hurt for awhile.
Be reassured that for every trial and tribulation we go through God is with us
protecting and watching over us. At the end He will bless us with more than
you can imagine.
Those trials are your testimony to what an awesome God we serve and the
glory goes to Him.
Most of our trials come from bad choices on our part. But God doesn't hold
them against us. He helps us through them. Talk to God! Praise Him, ask for-
giveness, and give Him thanks, for we are blest because He is our heavenly
Father who loves and takes care of us.
Forgive others that do wrong by you. Hate the sin but love the sinner. Be-
lieve me you will still sin and will have to repent from them. But if you cannot
forgive others God cannot forgive you.
Study these scriptures that I am going to write down for you. Let God, Him-
self show you what, who, and how. Sometimes it helps to read a verse before
and verse or so after to make sure that you get the whole picture.
My prayers go out to all those who read this messege and pray that it will
make a difference in your lives. God has done so much for me it is impossible
to express how thankful I am for what He has done for me. May God bless all
of you.
