JUDGEMENT
This lesson will be on Gods righteous judgement.
God looks on the people all the same.
He gives everyone the same opportunities.
God wants us all to turn to Him and away from the things of the world.
We each have a calling on our lives it is up to us to choose God and seek what
the calling on our lives is.
We just finished the first chapter in Romans.
We will start the second chapter in this lesson.
Romans 2:1 says; Therefore you are inexcusable, O man, who ever you are who
judge, for in whatever you judge another you condemn yourself; for you who
judge practice the same things.
Paul is saying that unrighteous people have no excuse.
Paul goes on to say if you judge someone you will be judged for the same thing.
It is inexcusableto judge someone else.
The only one who can judge us is God for He is sinless, holy, and righteous.
Unless you have the anointing of judgeship do not judge others.
For it is easier to see sin in others than in yourself.
Romans 1:20 says; For since the creation of the world His invisable attributes
are clearly seen; being understood by the things that are made, even His
eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse..
This verse speaks about the greatness of God.
His creation which can be seen in everything from wild flowers to mountains.
All the living animals from lions to an insect.
His power is obvious and that He is the Godhead.
He controls all things in the universe, earth, and under the earth.
There is no excuse for not seeing that there is a God who created all things from
nothing, all He had to do was speak it into exsistace.
Matthew 7:1-5 says; 1. Judge not, that you be not judged. 2. For with what
judgement you judge, you will be judged; and with the measure you use, it will
be measured back to you. 3. And why do you look at the speck in your
brothers eye, but do not consider the plank in your own eye? 4. Or how can
you say to your brother, "Let me remove the speck from your eye; and look,
a plank is in your own eye? 5. Hypocrites! First remove the plank from your
own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brothers
eye.
We have to have some kind of judgement in order to follow the commandments.
But a Christian should not have a spirit of finding faults in others.
We have all sinned and therefore we must have compassion for others.
We are to witness to the lost souls and no matter what don't act holier than thou.
Bring them into the light of the Lord so they might see the truth.
Search yourself daily and see if you have any sin or mean spirit working in you.
Sin can get in you without you even realizing it.
Romans 2:2 says; But we know that the judgement of God is according to truth
against those who practice such things.
If you are working in a sin and you know it is a sin you won't escape judgement.
You must repent from your sin and turn to the Lord and ask forgiveness of that
sin.
Don't judge others when you see others in sin.
Romans 2:3 says; And do you think this, O man, you who judge those practicing
such things, and doing the same, that you will escape the judgement of God?
We can't hide our sins from God.
Many times we can see a sin in someone else because we are guilty of the same
thing.
But we can't get anything past God.
He is an all knowing God that can see everyone at the same time and know what
we are doing.
We have 2 choices.
One is we turn away from our sin and look to the Lord and walk in His ways.
This choice will give you everlasting life.
Or you can continue in your sins and look to the world, Satan, and spend eternity
in hell.
The choice is yours.
I pray that you have chosen God as I have.
Romans 2:4 says; Or do you despise the riches of His goodness, forbearance,
and longsuffering, not knowing that the goodness of God leads you to repent-
ance?
Repentance means to turn away from your sin or to change your way of thinking
about something.
God has only good things for His children.
But not only material things.
The spiritual blessings which you can only get from the Lord are awesome!
Gods love, joy, peace, and hope for the days ahead.
But He also gives us gifts that we can work in to increase the Kingdom of God.
Ephesians 1:17-18 says; 17. that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of
glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of
Him. 18. The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may
know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His
inheritance in the saints.
Verse 17 is talking about the gifts that God wants to give His children.
That He wants us to understand Him.
The Lord wants to reveal what the scriptures mean, the secrets of His word.
In verse 18 when he says the eyes of your understanding of the spiritual things.
Paul uses words so they picture eyes looking out of our hearts and shinning
brightly with the devine revelation of God.
As Christians we have hope for many things.
But we all have one hope in common, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Knowing that we will spend eternity in Gods Kingdom with Jesus.
In Jesus we find our true hope and all things, riches, spiritual gifts, that truly
matter.
Ephesians 2:7 says; that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding
riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Jesus Christ.
This verse is talking about all those people throughout the years that have given
their hearts to Jesus.
That He is going to show us just how much He loves us because through Jesus
Christ we will have ever lasting life.
By His grace through faith, which God gives us , we receive salvation.
Jesus will supply all of our needs and much more.
Jesus heals us through the stripes He took for our healings.
He is our all in all, as long as we are walking in His ways.
Exodus 34:6 says; And the Lord passed before him and proclaimed, "The Lord
the Lord God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abounding in goodness
and truth
The Hebrews when they spoke of merciful and gracious they meant overwhelm-
ingly gracious.
.
When they said longsuffering they meant that God is very slow to anger.
When they said goodnessd it meant loyal love.
When they said truth they meant faithfulness.
Isaiah 30:18 says; Therefore the Lord will wait, that He may be gracious to you;
And therefore He will be exalted, that He may have mercy on you; For the
Lord is a God of justice.
Gods justice for the oppressors means they must be punished.
Gods charactor is gracious and merciful are the balance.
Think of it as a scale with 2 plates.
On the one plate is punishment, and the other plate is His grace and mercy.
They balance out.
Therefore He will be exalted.
It is our choice which side of the scale we want ot be on, punishment or grace
and mercy.
Romans 2:5 says; But in accordance with your hardness and your impenitent
heart you are treasuring up for yourself wrath in the day of wrath and revelation
of the righteous judgement of God,
The wrath of God is not speaking of Gods immediate anger.
This verse is speaking of the future wrath of God.
The church and its disobediants to the word of God.
Their unforgiveness to others when God teaches to forgive over and over.
God does forgive us over and over again.
But there will come a time when God will lose patients with us and the wrath of
God will be great.
Deuteronomy 10:17 says; For the Lord your God is God of gods and Lord of lords
the great God, mighty and awesome; who shows no partiality nor takes a
bribe.
Moses is telling the people that God is the one and only God.
He is telling them that we should all be in awe of Him.
That God loves all the people equally.
Even though the Israelites are the apple of His eye, they will be punished the
same as anyone else if they are disobediant.
That God loves each and every person born on this earth the same.
Our God is all powerful, all loving, all forgiving, all reacious, and all faithful to all
His children.
He is an all knowing God who sees into the hearts of the saved and the lost souls
His is in control whether we want to see that fact or not.
Gods wisdom is so far out there we can't even imagine all that He could teach us.
The revelation that He will show us if we seek His face and ask for wisdom is too
much to even imagine.
Romans 2:6 says; who will render to each one acording to his deeds
You can't be saved by your good deeds.
But if you have given over your life to Jesus and asked Him into your heart, and
turned away from you sinful ways (repented), you ae saved.
Once you are saved by grace, (Gods), through faith, (which God gives all of us),
we hould have works that follow your salvation.
If your works glorify the Lord you will be blessed and have a place in Gods King-
dom.
But if you live in unforgiveness you will be told by Jesus that He never knew you
and you will be condemned to hell.
We need to build a relationship with the Lord and seek Him daily.
To seek Gods will for our lives.
Psalms 62:12 says; Also to you O Lord, belongs mercy; For you render to each
one according to his work.
Mercy means: loyal love.
A covenantal love between you and God.
God gives each, (those born on earth), the love for God.
It is our choice whether we give that love to God.
God is a true judge, just judge, and a loving judge.
God will judge each one on their works and reward them or punish them.
Proverbs 24:12 says; If you say, "Surly we did not know this," Does not He who
weighs the hearts consider it? He who keeps your soul, does He not know it?
And will He not render to each man according to his deeds?
This verse is saying that God knows our hearts.
When we ask Jesus into our hearts we will change and turn from our sins.
We start working for the Lord.
We seek Gods will in all we do and make sre that God is glorified in it.
But if you know the Lord and continue in your sin even if you know the truth, you
will be judged for your sins.
If your works have been upright and you have been in Gods will, you will be re-
warded for your works.
God is a just God and no one is better than anyone else, we all have our posi-
tions to fill in the body of Christ.
Romans 2:7 says; eternal life to those who by patients continuance in doing
good seek for glory, honor, and immortality.
This verse is talking about Christians that do good works to glorify the Lord.
They work to lead the lost souls out of the darkness into the light.
They go out with the good news of the gospel of Jesus Christ.
That through Jesus Christ we can have ever lasting life in the Kingdom of God.
Romans 2:8 says; But to those who are selfseeking and do not obey the truth,
but obey unrighteousness--indignation and wrath,
This verse is talking about the people who do not follow in Gods ways.
Instead they follow the world and its idea of how we should live our lives.
The world teaches that we should look out for ourselves and not worry about if it
causes pain to others.
2 Thessalonians 1:8 says; in flaming fire taking vengeance on those who do not
know God, and on those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ
This verse is talking about Jesus taking vengeance on those who rejected Him.
Those who don't know God.
Anyone who is disobediant and only walk in the way of the Lord when it is con-
venient, those who are sitting on the fence.
You can't serve God and Satan.
If you serve Satan then you will have to answer to Jesus and the out come will not
be good.
You will be condemned to hell for eternity.
Romans 2:9 says; tribulation and anguish, on every soul of man who does evil, of
the Jew first and also of the Greek;
What this verse is saying is that if you do not have a heart for God life will not be
easy.
Although Christians also go through tribulations we know that God is with us and
will help us through them.
God will give us comfort in our trials.
But Satan has no compassion for those who follow him.
He hates you, lies to you, and if you continue to follow him, he will destroy you
and kill you.
Whether it be by someone else or by your own hands.
1 Peter 4:17 says; For the time has come for the judgement to begin at the
house of God; and if it begins with us first, what will be the end of those who
do not obey the gospel of God?
This verse is talking about God being angry with the church.
Christians are suppose to know better and obey God.
To seek Him in all things and obey His laws.
When the judgement comes there will be no hope for those who are not obediant
to God.
For disobediance will gain you nothing but to be condemned to hell for eternity.
Think about it if you are just would you give your child a good reward for being
disobediant?
Of course you wouldn't!
But God on the other hand tries very hard to bring us to live in His ways.
So on judgement day if you are not serving God you will be condemned to hell for
eternity because He is just.
Romans 2:11 says; For there is no partiality with God.
This verse simply says that God judges us equally.
He has no favorites, He loves us all the same.
There is no favoritism in Gods Kingdom.
Our rewards may be different depending on our works while we were on the earth.
But if your works on earth were evil you will be condemned to hell.
If you didn't forgive others while you were on earth you will not be forgiven either
and will spend eternity in hell.
Deutoronomy 10:17 says; For the Lord your God is God of gods and Lord of
lords, the great God, mighty and awesome, who shows no partiality nor takes
a bribe.
Different so called "religions" have this god or that god.
There is only one God.
God is the same today, as He was in the beginning, and that He will be when
this world is no more and the New Jerusalem comes down.
God has never had a favorite and never will.
God loves all of us equally even His enemies.
Romans 2:12 says; For as many as have sinned without law will also perish
without law, and as many as have sinned in the law will be judged by the law.
This verse is talking about the lost souls who don't know Gods laws.
But it is also speaking of those who do know Gods laws and have sinned in the
law.
Those who do not know Gods laws will parish also.
To learn Gods laws you must read the Bible and ask for wisdom from God to
understand the scriptures.
Romans 2:13 says; (for not the hearers of the law are just in the sight of God, but
the doers of the laws will be justified.
The hearers of the law are those who have heard the laws God has set for us.
But if they don't live by the laws they are not just in the eyes of God.
The Jews heard the laws but were not living by them and they faced many trials
because of their disobediance.
The Gentiles had not heard the laws but by instinct they followed the laws.
They knew right from wrong, honored their father and mother and so on.
So God justified them since they were living by His laws.
James 1:22 says; But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving
yourselves.
You see "God is telling us to be doers of the laws.
That will please God that you are living by His laws.
But what good is it to hear the laws yet don't live by them.
This doesn't please God for you are being disrespectful to God.
After all the only reason you are on the earth is that God allowed it so we really
do owe God all the respect, praise, and worship we can give Him.
James 1:25 says; But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues
in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this one well be bles-
sed in what he does.
You can see in this verse exactly what pleases God.
Those who love your fellow man.
Those who help the poor and sick.
Those who are peace makers.
Those who are forgiving.
Those who glorify God in all that they do.
Those who seek God will in all things small or big things.
Those who have turned away from sin.
Romans 2:14 says; for when the Gentiles, who do not have the law, by nature do
the things in the law, these, although not having the law, are a law to them-
selves.
Here Paul is saying that the Gentiles don't know the laws.
But they are of good character and lived by the laws.
Their morals are good and they go by their conscience.
They ruled themselves in good conduct.
Romans 2:15 says; who show the work of the written in their hearts, their con-
science also bearing witness, and between themselves their thoughts accus-
ing or else excusing them.
The law is not written in our hearts.
In our hearts is the work of the laws.
Gods love in our hearts will do all the things that please the Lord.
Compassion for those who have needs.
To think of others before yourself.
1 Corinthians 5:1 says; It is actually reported that there is sexual immorality
among you, and such sexual immorality as is not even named among the
Gentiles--that a man has his fathers wife!
Paul was talking about the Corinthians who knew the law.
He was upset about the sexual immorality among them.
Then Paul told them the Gentiles would not do such things.
The Corinthians knew the laws yet they ignored them and did what they wanted.
Christians wake up , God is angry because of our disobediants when we know
laws and choose to ignore them.
Come judgement day some will not be able to enter Gods Kingdom.
My friends make sure you are not one of them.
Acts 24:25 says; Now as he reasoned about righteousness, self control, and the
judgement to come, Felix was afraid and answered, "Go away for now; when
I have a convenient time I will call for you.
When Paul talked about righteousness, self control, and judgement Felix got
nervous.
He knew that his life was far from any of that.
He really didn't want to face the music.
He probably didn't want to change his ways either.
When you come to the place Felix was you had better pay attention.
We don't know when our time will end here on earth.
You just might be getting your last chance to turn from your sinful ways and turn
to God for a new start in your new life.
Romans 2:16 says; in the day when God will judge the secrets of men by Jesus
Christ, according to my gospel.
Paul is talking about Jesus judging us for our actions.
But also Jesus will judge our motives for our works.
Things that we think are hiden, Jesus saw us do them.
Jesus sees into our hearts, the unforgiveness, grudges, and even the times we
cheated on our taxes.
When you helped out the poor what was the motive behind giving them food and
clothing?
If you helped to show that you are a good Christian, you have already received
your reward.
Jesus will not reward you for it because your motives were wrong.
You were doing it for recognition from the world.
If you do it out of love, compassion, and to glorify the Lord, your reward will be
great when Jesus brings you home.
Matthew 25:21 says; His lord said to him, "Well done, good and faithful servent;
you were faithful over few things, I will make you ruler over many things."
Enter into the joy of your Lord.
Jesus is talking about giving us revelation on the word so we can go out and plant
seeds in the lost souls so that the kindom of God will be increased.
But if you keep it to yourself how is that going to increase the kingdom of God?
There will be no rewards for those who don't serve the Lord.
Acts 10:42 says; And He commanded us to preach to the people, and to testify
that it is He who was ordained by God to be Judge of the living and the dead.
Paul is telling the people that they need to go out and be a witness for Jesus
Christ.
That God had ordained Jesus as the Judge.
That Jesus would judge those who had already died upon His return.
He will also judge those who are still living at Gods oppointed time.
No one knows when Christ Jesus will return except for our Heavenly Father.
Acts 17:31 says; because He has appointed a day on which He will judge the
world in righteousness by the Man whom He has ordained. He has given
assurance of this to all by raising Him from the dead.
God is confirming that He alone knows the day when Jesus will return to earth.
God refers to Him as the Man He raised from the dead.
That is Jesus the only one who God raised from the dead.
1 Timothy 1:11 says; according to the glorious gospel of the blessed God which
was committed to my trust.
Timothy was speaking of the gospel of Christ.
That we need God more than we know.
We should be committed to the Gospel of Christ. and spread the good news of
salvation through Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior.
