CHRIST IN OUR PLACE
In this lesson we will see just how much God loves us.
What He did that even as His enemies turned our lives around and blessed us.
God stopped Abraham from killing his son.
But God allowed His own Son to feel our pain and die a horrible death.
Why, because God loves us so much.
Romans 5:6 says; For when we were still without strength, in due time Christ
died for the ungodly.
Paul is explaining just how much God loves us.
God loves us just as we are but since He is a just God He had to do something
so He could call us His own, and save us from His wrath.
So God sent His only Son to make a way for us to become part of His family and
have everlasting life with Him in His Kingdom.
Romans 4:25 says; Who was delivered up because of our offenses, and was
raised because of our justification.
For those who believed in Jesus, that He was Gods only Son we are justified be-
cause Jesus died on the cross with all the sins of the world on Him.
When you are justified in Gods eyes you have never sinned.
We are part of Gods family when we ask Jesus into our hearts.
Romans 8:32 says; He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for
us all, how shall He not with Him also freely gave us all things?
God didn't spare His only Son a horrible death for our sakes.
Then He ressurected Jesus.
Through Jesus Christs blood we are washed white as snow.
By grace, of God, through faith, in Jesus, we are saved.
We become a different person.
We become one of Gods children.
We desire to live for the Lord and turn away from our sins.
Salvation is a gift from God.
Romans 5:7 says; For scarely for a righteous man will one die; yet perhaps for a
good man someone would even dare to die.
Jesus Christ was a righteous when He walked on the earth.
Yet even His disciples turned away from Jesus because they feared for their lives.
Then again one would die for a spouse or their child.
How many Christians would die for the sake of Christ?
You know that is were we need to be.
How many will die for Jesus even if it means not only your life but your spouse
and children?
Do we truly put God first in our lives?
Jesus died because He loved us that much.
How much do you love the Lord?
Romans 5:8 says; But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while
we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
God sent Jesus in the form of a baby.
God knew Jesus would not have an easy life.
He knew His Son would be persecuted.
Jesus did the Fathers will and spok to the people and taught them about our
heavenly Father.
In the end Jesus was beaten beyond recognition, humiliated, and nailed to the
cross, with all the sins of the world on Him.
John 3:16 says; God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that
whoever believes in Him should not parish but have everlasting life.
God gave so much to save us from our sinful ways.
Yet for far too long we continue to sin against Him.
We look to man instead of looking to God for our needs.
We need to believe in and trust God for all of our needs.
John 15:13 says; Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one's life
for his friends.
Jesus was telling the people that He loved them.
That He would lay down His life for them.
Jesus loved us even though we were sinners.
Jesus considered us His friends.
As Christians Jesus should be our best friend.
We should love Him because He loved us first.
We have friends with mankind, we love them too.
How much more should we love our best friend, Jesus Christ, who died for our
sins?
Romans 5:9 says; Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we
shall be saved from Gods wrath through Him.
We are justified by the blood of Jesus.
Just one drop and we are cleaned white as snow.
If we ask Jesus into our hearts we will no longer have to face the wrath of God.
This was the only way God could allow us to enter His Kingdom.
By Gods grace, through faith, in Jesus Christ, we are saved.
How much more could God love us?
He gave His only Son so that we might have everlasting life.
Ephesians 2:13 says; But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far-off have
been brought near by the blood of Christ.
We have all fallen short of the Kingdom of God.
We are born under sin because of Adam and Eve.
But because Jesus died on the cross, with all the sins of the world on Him, even
though He was innocent and had not even one sin, we have been justified and
will spend eternity in heaven.
Jesus blood brought us closer to God.
1 Thessalonians 1:10 says; and to wait for His Son from heaven, whom He raised
from the dead , even Jesus who delivers us from the wrath to come.
As Christians we are waithing for the second coming of Jesus Christ, to take the
church home.
When the disciples asked Jesus when He would return, Jesus told them that
only the Father in heaven knew.
We need to be ready today because we don't know when Jesus will call us home.
I've heard so many say, I'm young don't have to worry about that.
But have you noticed how many young men anbd women die young?
Some of them thought they had plenty of time to get right with God.
There is so much to do before Jesus calls the church home.
We all need to be serving the Lord and preparing the lost to meet their maker.
If they don't know the Lord how can they be ready when He calls them home?
Where will they be spending eternity if we are not teaching and showing them
what an awesome God we serve?
If you don't know Jesus you will spend eternity in hell.
Let Jesus work through you to show the lost souls the way.
We can't do this on our own.
We need Jesus everyday of our lives.
It doesn't matter how long you have been a Christian, without Jesus working
through you your works are futile.
Romans 5:10 says; For if when we were enemies we were reconciled to God
through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be
saved by His life.
When Paul talks about being reconciled with God, he is talking about having a dif-
ferent relationship with God.
We are no longer His enemies but we are part of Gods family.
We are His adopted children.
That is really awesome when you think about it.
We no longer have to fight our own battles, God will do that for us.
When we are in need of something, God will supply it.
But best of all we are loved by God in a way mankind has ever loved us.
God is love, it is a perfect love that can't be immatated by man.
We are reconciled to a peace in God through Jesus Christ.
2 Corinthians 5:8 says; We are confident, yes, well pleased rather to be absent
from the body and to be present with the Lord.
This verse is one of the verses in the New Testament that tells us when our life is
done on earth we will be in heaven with Jesus.
Paul was confident that he would be with Jesus when he died.
Pleased to be rid of the shell he occupied while on earth.
Believers in the Gospel of Christ will all go to heaven.
If you have repented and turned away from your sins, and keep the faith in God,
you are part of the family and will have everlasting life in heaven.
This verse gives us all hope for tomorrow.
John 14:19 says; A little while longer and the world will see Me no more, but you
will see Me. Because I live, you will live also.
In this verse Jesus was saying that His time on earth would soon be over.
The people that didn't believe would see Him no more.
He was saying that He could not be held down by death and He would live again.
Because He lives, all of His believers would also live.
If you believe in Jesus, know that He is Gods only Son, and live in His ways, you
will spend eternity in heaven with Jesus.
If you are self serving, living for the world, and living to please man you'll not go to
heaven but will spend eternity in hell.
Romans 5:11 says; And not only that, but we also rejoice in God through our
Lord Jesus Christ, through who we have now received the reconciliation.
We were dead in our sins when Jesus was born.
All had fallen short of the kingdom of God.
When we ask Jesus into our hearts and live for Him we are reconciled with God.
Jesus died on the cross for our sins, and with that debt paid we were reconciled
with God through Jesus.
We owe Him a huge debt that we can't pay if we lived to be one hundred years
old.
But we can serve Him, seek His will for us, and love Him with all of our mind,
heart, and soul.
Praise, worship, and trust Him in all things.
In good times and bad times He is always with us.
Praise Him even in the hard times that we face in our life.
Galatians 4:9 says; But now after you have known God, or rather are known by
God, how is it that you turn again to the weak and beggerly elements, to
which you desire again to be in bondage.
Pauls point in this verse is when we ask Jesus into our lives and are saved why
do we go back to our old ways?
Go back to rituals and mans laws that kept us in bondage.
Jesus did it all, covered our sins by taking all of the sins of the world to the cross.
He set us free from all the bondages the world held us in.
Why would we want that again after Jesus set us free?
All through the ages it has been the same.
If we will keep our eyes on the Lord, and seek His will for our lives, He has so
much more for us than the world has to offer.
The scriptures I used in this lesson are: Romans 5:6-11, 4:25, 8:32, John 3:16,
15:13, Ephesians 2:13, 1 Thessalonians 14:19, John 14:19,
Galatians 4:9,
2 Corinthians 5:18.
My prayer is that who ever reads this lesson, the Lord gave me, will have a better
understanding what the Lord did for us. That when God resurected Jesus from
the dead it has opened your eyes that Jesus lives and so will those who
believe. That we are reconciled to God through Jesus. That God only wants
the best for His children. I encourage you to continue to read your Bibles and
get as much of it into your hearts. That you will desire to know the Lord bet-
ter with everyday that passes.
God bless you and your family, may the Lord keep you close to Him.
PRAISE GOD OUR FATHER, JESUS OUR SAVIOR, AND THE HOLY SPIRIT
THAT LIVES WITHIN ALL CHRISTIANS.
